I will hazard only one minor addendum to your first-rate chicken history. I think the proper expression on its lessons is this:

In item number 5, the Europeans didn’t lift the tariff on German trucks because they didn’t initiate it. The US didn’t remove the truck tariff when the Frogs lifted the chicken tariff. 🙂
